     FDA says antibacterial soaps and washes aren't any better than plain soap and water for home use.
     Consumer antibacterial products usually contain triclosan or other antiseptics to kill bacteria.
     But washing with plain soap and water works just as well to decrease bacteria levels on the skin.
     Plus, there's NO proof that antibacterial soaps decrease infections...and there's concern about potential resistance.
     Suggest sticking to plain soap and water.
     Recommend a hand sanitizer (Purell, etc) when soap and water are not available...subscribe to read more...
